With PROFIBUS-PA or FOUNDATION Fieldbus Communication system for decentralized automation and field devices provides benefits for users: Several field devices can be connected to and receive power from a single bus cable. Field devices are interchangeable because of common parameters for basic functionality. The supervisory system has read/write access to all instruments and their related parameters. With the physical layer according to IEC 61158-2 a standard and sure transmission is guaranteed. The bus may contain up to 32 devices in non-Ex applications and up to 10 devices for EEx ia IIC.
