Our core buisness is the supply of industrial control systems based on PLC systems from main suppliers such as Schneider and Omron. We have supplied from single small PLC's for OEM machine control to multi network systems with up to 20 PLC 's on a network.

For supervisor control we use industry standard HMI's and SCADA'sfor -house capability in supplying and supporting Rockwell based PLC systems, is reflected in our developing business in this area. We both supply systems, and offer support for existing systems .

Ethernet and the internet

Today we are concentrating on the impact of ethernet on the industrial environment. The development of the internet, and the wide acceptance of ethernet as the de-facto communication medium is progressing towards the shop floor. Plant monitoring using web browser techology will supplant the existing vendor specific solution currently in existance. Westmont is now installing control systems with web server capability, and linked to the factory ethernet network. Prodcuion informationfrom the process lines can now be distributed easily throughout a business, providing the key people with the information they require.. And it's all using web browers and similiar internet technology.
